Two BOE Members Sworn In; Board Elects New Leadership

The Westminster Public Schools Board of Education welcomed two returning members to the job at last month’s meeting as Dan Orecchio and Aaron Martin were sworn in to new four-year terms. Both ran unopposed in the November 2025 election, securing their seats through 2029.

Adams County Judge Martin Blaum administered the oath of office to both men.

Orecchio brings deep roots to his continued service. Raised in the community and a Westminster High School graduate, Orecchio has often pointed to his own experience in the district as the driving force behind his commitment to local schools. His return to the board ensures continued focus on student opportunity, stability, and strengthening district identity.

After being sworn in, he said, “I’m honored to be serving a second term and look forward to continuing the work we are doing together.”

Martin begins another term with a strong personal connection to Westminster Public Schools. His son currently attends Westminster High School and his wife works as an educator in WPS. This experience he says helps ground his approach to policy, classroom support, and communication with families. Martin is also a volunteer softball coach for the high school team.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the board held its annual reorganization. Mary Beth Murphey was elected board president, while Aaron Martin was chosen to serve as vice president. Orecchio was elected Secretary and Audrey Yanos was elected treasurer.
