STAFF SPOTLIGHT: LAURA CASTAÑEDA
Laura Castañeda
CSLA Registrar

Laura is a solid veteran of Westminster Public Schools with 21 years of service as an Office Assistant and Registrar at Colorado Sports Leadership Academy. She also served the Scott Carpenter Middle School team in the same role having registered thousands of students over the years. She approaches each new family with kindness, always willing to go the distance to help students enroll.

She is a Ranum High School graduate, and she was a member of the cheer team. She also attended Clear Lake Middle School.

Principal Lohmann and AP Kodi write, “Laura is a key member of our office staff who truly goes above and beyond every day. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication are felt by everyone in our district. Whether she’s keeping us organized, assisting with communication for our Spanish-speaking students and families, or simply brightening our day with her sense of humor, Laura consistently makes our workplace better. She’s highly adaptable and gracefully handles anything that comes her way. We’re so fortunate to have her on our team and do not know what we would do without her.”

“Laura is truly the GOAT,” states Principal's Secretary Hailey Abel. “She is an essential part of our office team. I can always count on Laura to help out with any task. She has a positive attitude every day and is also a favorite among our students and families. I admire her not only as a colleague but as a friend as well. CSLA and WPS wouldn’t be the same without her knowledge and expertise! Your guidance has helped me be a better employee! Thank you, Laura, for all you have done for me and CSLA.”

What has Westminster Public Schools meant to you?: It means a lot. I have been here for a long time. I love to see the impact that teachers have on the kids and the community, especially when they come back and praise the teachers for believing in them.

Who inspires me in WPS (staff, parent, or student): In all my years, I have had a great relationship with all the administrators. One that stands out is Pat Sanchez, he was the principal at the time at Scott Carpenter. He hired me, and he was the one who saw something in me.
