STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: ADAN QUEZADA RAMOS

Adan Quezada Ramos
Metropolitan Arts Academy | Level 7 Student
Student Highlight: Adan excels in many areas, but two skills stand out. He is an excellent saxophone player, and an incredible quarterback. According to his principal, Ms. Claudette Trujillo, “Adan is a remarkable student who is both funny and kind.” As well, his teacher Mr. Salazar states, “Adan is a student that is determined to be a great leader. Adan has a heart of gold and there is not a day that goes by that Adan does not want to get better. I am proud of the young man Adan has become and I am so proud to call him my student.” Adan also serves as a peer mentor at the Met. Mr. Levenson, his music teacher, writes, “Adan is one of the most tenacious students I've ever met. His desire to learn and grow each and every day is inspiring. Not only is Adan a wonderful learner , but he is a strong leader and an empathic friend. He supports his fellow students and is always working to make everyone around him better as well. Adan has become an example of what a great musician should look like at the Met, and continues to amaze us all with his talent, hard work, and dedication.” Clearly, Adan is an amazing student who represents WPS and MAA exceptionally.
Favorite Snack: Wingstop! Boneless wings are my favorite.
Favorite thing to do: Playing the alto saxophone, of course!
My favorite animal: A lion, because they are strong and king of all the animals.
Best School memory: Performing ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ at the school talent show.
What am I listening to now? American Jazz Band Leader, Art Blakey.
If I could have a superpower, it would be: Teleportation
The teacher who has inspired me the most: Mr. Levinson has inspired me the most. He taught me how to play the saxophone. Plus, he is very nice and really good at sax. He taught me that jazz is my favorite art form, which I love. It’s all about improvisation.
