MET STUDENTS SHINE AT JUNIOR THESCON
Eleven students from the Metropolitan Arts Academy were judged as “Superior” for their performance of the “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” during ThesCon 2023 at the Denver Contention Center. The students were recognized by the Board of Education during last week’s meeting.
Teacher Dylan Shelofsky, who accompanied the students on the trip, told the board, “they represented the district so unbelievably well,” adding, “Not only were they exceptionally talented, they were so professionaland I am really really proud of them.”
The judges were impressed too. They commented on the students "commitment to character", "amazing concentration", "strong acting choices", and "unbelievable singing"!
“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is a musical comedy that focuses on six quirky kids and the grownups who run the event. View a clip of their performance below.
